Taxes

Dispense no longer supports product level taxes or the ability to bulk update taxes. When taxes are edited/added in your product settings, this will apply to all new or existing products.

Create a Tax

  1. Navigate to Store > Settings > Products > Taxes
  2. Click 'Add Tax'
  3. Give your tax a name. This name will be visible at checkout.
  4. Input the tax amount (%). If taxable, check the box
  5. Fill in other optional settings (outlined below).
  6. Save

Variable Tax Rate by Category

Choose which categories this tax will be applied to. This is great for medical locations who may only want to tax accessories and merchandise but not cannabis items.

Variable Tax Rate by THC Amount

Add in a range of THC values to apply taxes on. This is beneficial if your state has a tiered tax structure based on total THC in the product. If you would like to use this feature, starting range should be either 1% or 1mg. Options are:

  • THC9
  • THCa
  • THC9 + THCa

Gross Tax

When enabled, Dispense will calculate taxes off of the subtotal before any discounts have been applied.

When disabled, Dispense will calculate taxes off of the subtotal minus discounts.

Edit a Tax

  1. Navigate to Store > Settings > Products > Taxes
  2. Click 'Edit' on the tax
  3. Edit your settings
  4. Save

Delete a Tax

  1. Navigate to Store > Settings > Products > Taxes
  2. Click the delete (trash) icon
